Yin Workshop: May

  • Starts May 11
  • 40 British pounds
  • SCYSTUDIO

Description

Come along for a slice of tranquility in the Wiltshire countryside... Join Sarah for an extended practice of nourishing yoga, relaxation and connection. A little really does go a long way with these things; offering a momentary departure from the day-to-day routine, allowing your nervous system space to settle, soften and recalibrate. This isn't the kind of yoga event that's about getting fitter, faster or, quite frankly, being anything you aren't already. Rather, it'll leave you feeling full in your heart (and belly - some sweet treats included), light in your shoulders and more tethered to your inner resource of wellbeing. What to expect: - gently energising tai-chi practices to release tension and unlock the energy body - pranayama (breathing exercises) - visualisations - yin yoga practice - restorative yoga practice - grounding yoga nidra (a type of meditation accessed through deep relaxation) - sweet treats and herbal teas - all equipment What is yin yoga? Yin yoga is a powerful and nourishing practice where postures are held for minutes at a time, rather than a few breaths. The connective tissues of the body (your network of fascia) can carry tension, stress and emotional histories. We might experience this as a congested shoulder, hip flexor or sore lower back. Through methodical, informed and sustained stretching and compressing, we are able release these blockages. It is a challenging but rewarding exercise for the body and mind which can transform how freely we move. Class sizes are limited - a small, friendly group so that you are given the individual attention you deserve, modifications will be offered if you are working with body quirks/injuries. For more information on what to bring, equipment and Covid-19 safety, please see FAQs.
