



Cooling Yin - Yoga Workshop
Description
With the fire element ruling over the summer season, we'll be diving into a cooling and calming yin sequence to counter the yang energies all around. Expect heavy use of props to support deep fascial release, cleansing spinal twists and soothing yoga nidra (a type of meditation accessed through states of relaxation). What is yin yoga? Yin yoga is a calming yet powerful practice where postures are held for minutes at a time, rather than a few breaths. The connective tissues of the body (your network of fascia) can carry tension, stress and emotional histories. We might experience this as a congested shoulder, hip flexor or sore lower back. Through methodical, informed and sustained stretching and compressing, we are able release these blockages. It is a challenging but rewarding exercise for the body and mind which can transform how freely we move and think. Class sizes are limited - a small, friendly group so that you are given the individual attention you deserve, modifications will be offered if you are working with body quirks/injuries.
